I loaded VST plugins and SoundFonts effortlessly, automating effects on the mixer for polished mixes. Cross-platform support on Windows, Linux, and Mac kept my workflow smooth, and being completely free unlocked unlimited experimentation without barriers. The built-in instruments and samples got me producing fast, with project notes helping track ideas. Exporting MIDI and audio worked well for sharing. Stability frustrated me at times; occasional crashes hit during heavy VST use, and no native audio recording means pairing with Audacity. The UI feels dated with clunky scrolling. Overall, LMMS delivers solid value for hobbyists crafting electronic music on a budget. Great starter DAW, but pros may outgrow it
