Salesforce has the naming rights to what will be Sydney’s tallest building, a 53 storey $1.5 billion tower off Circular Quay. The CRM giant announced staff will begin moving into “Salesforce Tower Sydney” in “late 2022”.

The move will put the $US130b software company squarely in real estate typified by Australian finance industry elite. The Sydney tower is one of 10 in key Salesforce markets, including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, London, Tokyo, and Dublin.

Salesforce says the new location will lead to 1,000 new local jobs over the next five years. According to the company, the office will be “one of the most sustainable office campuses in the city” by focusing on energy efficiency, reducing water use and greenhouse gas emissions as well as limiting construction waste.

According to Salesforce the building has achieved Sydney’s first-ever WELL core and Shell Platinum pre-certification and is pursuing 6 Star Green Star Design and As Built rating.

“Salesforce has a proud history in Australia, having been here for over 15 years,” said new Salesforce ANZ CEO, Pip Marlow.

“Salesforce Tower Sydney is taking that commitment to a new level and will allow us to have an even greater impact on our people, our customers, and most importantly our community.”

There are plans for a top “Ohana floor” – an open hospitality space for Salesforce stakeholders which will also be available for nonprofits and education groups outside work hours.

The Barangaroo development has previously been known as Circular Quay Tower or 180 George and is being built by Lendlease.

Salesforce currently has Sydney offices in Darling Harbour and North Sydney. There are two more Australian offices  in Melbourne and Canberra. The regional headquarters is in Singapore.
