PayPal has tapped Anthony Drury to fill the newly created role of Director, Enterprise Business, PayPal Australia.

Drury is relocating to Australia from EasyJet UK, where he was head of business to business. He has also held a number of senior positions at American Express, where he worked for 12 years.

In his new role, Drury will be responsible for leading PayPal’s sales, relationship management and strategic growth with enterprise customers.

Libby Roy, VP and Managing Director for PayPal Australia said Drury’s strong record in sales and strategy development will be a great asset to the PayPal Australia business.

“We are excited to bring a leader of this calibre into the PayPal Australia business. Anthony’s passion and drive for results make him an excellent addition to the PayPal Australia leadership team,” Roy said.

“As we face an increasingly competitive environment, we must innovate how we approach our sales, relationship management and strategic growth activities and Anthony is the perfect person to execute our vision,” Roy added.

Drury comes to PayPal with business development experience across a wide range of international businesses and industries including aviation, travel and tourism, payments, ecommerce and engineering. He is also an experienced non-executive director, having held positions on boards across a range of industries including tourism and technology.

“I am excited to be joining PayPal at a time of unprecedented change and innovation. I look forward to further enhancing the already strong strategies PayPal Australia has in place,” Drury said.

PayPal globally is experiencing a period of growth. In Q4, 2016, PayPal facilitated 1.8 billion payments, up 23 per cent on the previous quarter as well as USD$99 billion in total payment volume, up 26 per cent.
