Australia debuted its own contact tracing app, COVIDSafe, on the weekend in the hopes the technology will help ease lockdown restrictions.

Two million people downloaded the app in less than 48 hours as the government called on citizens to play their part in slowing the spread of the pandemic.

Despite several privacy measures, some experts are still concerned with the app and the lack of source code. In this week’s Minicast, journalist Joseph Brookes shares what the experts told him as part of a COVIDSafe deep dive.
