Data mapping is the process of determining and documenting the way personal information flows into, across, and outside of an organisation.

To celebrate Privacy Awareness Week (3rd to the 9th of May) this year, privacy experts from technology consulting firm Protiviti and law firm Baker McKenzie are coming together in a three part podcast series, hosted by Boardroom.Media.

In part three of the series, we hear from Hirun Tantirigama, Director of Technology Consulting at Protiviti Australia and Adrian Lawrence, Partner at Baker McKenzie. Continuing on from the last episode where we discussed data breaches in the context of what we have learnt from the mandatory data breach notification scheme, this episode will explore the ins and outs of data mapping, including what is data mapping, how it fits in with GDPR and how companies can use data mapping to get ready for the future.
